Frequently Asked Questions

1. I never had to pay shipping charges for my school pictures. Why am I paying for them now?  After listening to our parents, we learned that you would prefer a shorter waiting period to receive pictures, even if it meant, you would incur a small shipping charge. Instead of waiting 4-5 weeks for school delivery, you can expect receipt within 5-7 days.

2. Why is there different pricing for some of the same items? For example, I can see that under the "Small Format Prints" by Miller's Lab, a 5x7 is $15, while under "All Prints by Schools, Sports & Events" is can be found for $13. This is an excellent question. We are now offering you different grades of quality at different price-points. Because many of you really use these school pictures for holiday gifts, we want to ensure that you have the option of ordering from the best quality lab. When you place an order from "Miller's Lab," you are receiving prints from the lab that I use, with my private sessions. Prints are color corrected to their high standards. You also have the option to pay for prints that are retouched (removal of blemishes, etc.). My cost is higher when ordering from this lab, so hence the price disparity.

3. What is the most significant difference then between "Miller's Lab" and "Prints by Schools, Sport & Events?"  The main difference between the two labs is the selection. The "School & Events" lab has fewer print sizes to choose from, at a lower cost. If you are looking to keep it simple and cost effective, please remember to order from that lab. If you have been satisfied with this quality & choices in the past, this is the lab you want to use, albeit the more limited options.

4. What are high resolution JPEGS and can I print these?  Jpegs are the actual high resolution files that are immediately downloadable and can be used for printing up to it maximum size (depending on file, around 24x30, or 30x40). Muddy Faces recommends that you order from www.MPix.com, for best quality. Note, a release comes with digital downloads, should you want to purchase prints locally.

5. Why are JPEGS priced so high? Jpegs are at a higher price point, because you end up owning the rights to the pictures. You can reprint as many times at your cost, as you like. When you consider the volume of family members who may enjoy the photographs as gifts, purchasing the jpegs often ends up being a cost effective way to go.
